Week 17- A Handful!

Greetings! To start this week's blog post please hold out your hand and look at your palm. Our baby is now the size of the palm of a hand! And baby weights about 5 ounces, slowly but steadily gaining body fat. The heart rate is also now regulating itself and more steady around an average of 140-150 beats a minute. We have our next prenatal appointment tomorrow so we'll see if they test the heartbeat again so we can have a better idea of what Baby G's heart rate actually is.

Also this week we got a second-hand bassinet from one of Tom's coworkers (see the pic below). We're really excited because our plan at this point is to keep the bassinet by our bed the first couple of weeks that the baby is home so it's closer and easier to access for night-time feedings.
I've also included a picture of the assembled crib. Of course we still need a mattress and bedding, but we think it looks pretty snazzy so far!
This week we've also been talking more about possible baby names. Though we're not going to spill any secrets about the name and plan to tell people what name we decide on once the baby is born, we have a pretty for sure idea of what name we'll use if it's a boy. We're also down to a pretty good top 5 list for girl's names. We don't have long to wait, though, before we can figure out whether or not we need a boy or girl name. In 6 days we have our next ultrasound appointment. This one they do a ton of specific pictures and measurements, and can try to see whether it's a boy or girl. I am super excited for that moment so tune in next week for the big news if baby cooperates in letting us see! And as always, a pic of growing mama :)
