The news is in--Baby G is a baby boy! This morning we had an ultrasound which was really exciting for many reasons. It was so neat to see the little arms, toes, legs, heart, brain--everything! And especially exciting to finally know that we're expecting a boy. It was pretty funny because the ultrasound tech had to poke my belly a bunch to get our little guy to uncross his legs before we could tell whether or not it was a boy or girl. I'll admit I had a gut feeling it was a girl, but I guess it was just a feeling! I've joked with Tom that the male domination in our family continues. Tom has 2 brothers and I have 1 brother, so no girls anywhere. But I can't wait to meet our little boy and see what he'll be like-both in personality and in looks. I'd have to say my guess is that little baby boy G will have curly hair and green eyes since Tom and I both sport these characteristics, but time will tell! The ultrasound also showed that baby G is now 7 ounces in weight and showing just within a few days of our due date. We're actually going to have another ultrasound in about 3 weeks since the baby was laying on his back so they couldn't get any good shots of his spinal chord. So that'll be really fun being able to get another sneak peak at the little guy.
Courtesy of the What to Expect When You're Expecting website this week our baby is learning to yawn and hiccup and also developing it's very own fingerprints and toe prints! Good news on how I'm doing this week, too, is that my sciatic nerve pain in my leg and back is much, much better so yay!
Here's some photos of baby boy G from our ultrasound.....

Not to change previous trend, but because today's been a big day the week 18 belly picture will be posted in another day or two.
Thanks for keeping up with the blog everyone who's been reading this!
Yeah for little boys! I had no idea what it would be like to have a boy, but I have loved it. The mother-son bond is really special...you have lots of fun in store for you! Congrats!
