I've been enjoying thinking these past couple of weeks about the changes that are happening with "Baby G". Here are some of the highlights happening this week in week 11:
The baby is now a little more than 2 inches long and weighs about 1/3 of an ounce-teeny! Their head is equal in length to the rest of their body. Who knows, they may have a big head like I did as a baby! Hair follicles are forming, fingernail and toenail beds are developing, and the baby's torso is straightening out. The baby can now stretch, somersault, and do forward rolls. Hopefully they'll be better at gymnastics, though, than I was :)
For me, I've been feeling less nausea this week overall which has been very welcome. Mornings are still very tough, though, as all I can stomach to eat is toast. But my wonderful husband, Tom, has been a huge help, brining me my toast and juice to bed every morning so I can ease into the day.
This upcoming Saturday we've planned a dinner out to a restaurant called Pizza Luce with our closest friends (Becky, Jeromy, Kirstyn, Dave, Rachel, and Sarah) and we're going to break the big baby news there to them. We're both really excited to be able to now tell everyone and not to have to keep this wonderful news a secret any longer!
We're also planning this weekend to do a little shopping around for baby room furniture. It may be early but it's difficult to contain my love of decorating so we want to get some ideas of what crib, dresser, etc. we'll want. I'll be honest that I already have a sketch of the baby room including a tree mural I plan on painting, so needless to say, I'm itching to start the decorating process!
To end, here's my weekly picture of my soon to be ever expanding belly as well as a picture of our silly dog, Marty, who was looking pretty hilarious with his rubber Frisbee that he's chewed a hole out of the center of.
Congratulations again!!! I'm so excited for you guys. You will be amazing parents!!
